Douglas Manufacturing showcased its new magnet, the Interceptor, at AGG1 in Nashville, Tennessee.

The Interceptor is a self-cleaning, permanent magnetic separator designed specifically for portable plants. It is equipped with a low-speed, high-torque hydraulic drive and automatically discharges tramp metal away from the conveyor.

The magnet is compact and lightweight, the company says, and has a suspension height of up to 12 in. from its belt top cover. The magnet also features crown face pulleys for vulcanized lagging and comes standard with slide tube belt take-ups.

According to Douglas Manufacturing, the Interceptor has a heavy-duty rubber cover belt with hot vulcanized cleats and an optional armor-clad belt.

The Interceptor is lightweight, powerful, built to perform and designed specifically for portable plants, says Paul Ross, president of Douglas Manufacturing. The profile matches portable plants very efficiently, and you don’t have to have a significant structure to support it on the conveyor system.
