Are you as excited for ConExpo-Con/Agg as we are?

The Pit & Quarry staff has been gearing up for ConExpo for months. We launched a dedicated webpage back in October that houses all of the magazine’s coverage of North America’s largest construction trade show. Since that time, P&Q’s editors have been writing more about ConExpo than any other topic of interest to the aggregate industry.

Our ConExpo coverage so far spans the gamut you’d expect, from product rollouts to new and exciting features of the show. We have more of those offerings in this month’s edition, with a show preview and a peek at new equipment and technology you’ll find at the show.

Additionally, you can read what those who attended the Jan. 24-25 Pit & Quarry Roundtable & Conference had to say about ConExpo, its value and their approach to the show. Our ConExpo coverage doesn’t stop there, though, as we have a massive supplement – the Aggregate Show Guide to ConExpo-Con/Agg 2023 – offering aggregate producers even more content to shape their show plans.

Covering the show

Consider, too, that everything “ConExpo” you see in this month’s edition was cultivated before the show even starts. We plan to ratchet up our coverage in Las Vegas on Media Monday (March 13), when equipment manufacturers share their very latest developments with the trade press.

The first two ConExpo show days (March 14-15) will be pretty crazy for our editors, as a slew of press conferences will keep us moving from one place to the next in and around the Las Vegas Convention Center. The pace of the show historically becomes more manageable for our editors by Day 3, as we’re able to unpack more of the content we gathered throughout the manic first couple of days.

Personally, I love ConExpo. This one will be my fourth. The show isn’t exactly easy on the body, as I vividly recall days from years past when my hamstrings were begging for mercy after long stretches spent standing in place.

Still, ConExpo is where the aggregate industry comes together like nowhere else. I always enjoy connecting with industry friends after a year or more of separation. ConExpo also regularly serves as an inflection point for the equipment and technology progress made over the prior three years, and I’m looking forward to seeing the next rendition of advancements right in front of me.

Pit & Quarry (and Portable Plants, our sister publication) will have a presence in the convention center’s Central Hall (Booth C21057), where ConExpo attendees can grab copies of the magazine, sign up to receive P&Q offerings and visit with our staff. If you don’t see me or my teammates at the booth, however, it’s because we’re seeking out yet another story somewhere on the ConExpo show floor.
